My goal had been to have a fresh garden journal assembled, bound, and ready to go when the calendar turned over to 2018. Each month of the year has things to see and stories to tell when it comes to a garden. Winter in Wisconsin brings plenty of wildlife to visit the stately and sturdy flower heads in search of seeds. Those old pods and flower heads deserve some attention for withstanding the cold winter winds and snow. So, a salute to them, because old is pretty too! In doing a little garden walk the other day I found these two survivors and I thought they'd be beautiful models for the cover of my journal.
